Since her admission to the Cyprus Bar Association in 2004, Christina Kotsapa has been practicing at the litigation department of one of the oldest and most reputable law firms in Cyprus. In 2018, she joined our firm to become a partner.

She advises and represents clients in a wide range of commercial disputes, satellite litigations as well as contractual and property related claims. She has particular experience in multi-jurisdictional civil fraud cases, company/joint venture disputes, and insolvency issues, many of which start with worldwide freezing injunction applications. Her knowledge and expertise extents to seeking interim measures and worldwide freezing injunctions before the Cyprus Courts to prohibit alienation of assets as well as seeking the enforcement and execution of Cypriot and foreign judgments.

She also has extensive experience in banking litigation that includes handling claims on behalf of banking institutions, corporate and individual clients as well as representing clients against the Central Bank of Cyprus. During her years of practice, she has represented clients before the Supreme Court of Cyprus, the District Courts, the Employment Tribunal and the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition.

Most recent experience includes:

  • Represented the majority shareholders of Cyprus Development Bank before the District Courts and succeeded in dismissing a freezing measures application by the bank’s minority shareholders (2018).
  • Represented Nibulon SA an international agriculture producing and exporting company and before the District Courts and succeeded in securing interim freezing measures against one of is debtors for conspiracy to defraud creditors (2017).
  • Represented Content Union SA an international organization active in the field of producing, managing and distributing television thematic channels in Russia and succeeded in securing interim freezing measures against its joint holders for fraudulent alienation of shares in a joint hold Cyprus Company (2017)
  • Represented VTB Group before the District Courts and succeeded in securing tracing orders against service providers in Cyprus to disclose the UBO of a Cypriot Company (2017).
  • Represented Nanoenergo Fund Ltd an international investment fund before the District Courts against Central Bank of Cyprus and succeeded in discharging its application to appoint a receiver over the fund (2017)
  • Represented Hellenic Bank Public Company Ltd before the Cyprus Commission for the Protection of Competition with respect to the acquisition by of activities and assets which belong to the Cyprus Co-operative Bank Ltd and succeeded in getting clearance (2018).
  • Represented Hellenic Bank Public Company Ltd before the Protection of Competition for the acquisition of the management and recovery of non-performing loans of by APS Debt Servicing Cyprus Ltd and succeeded in getting clearance (2017)
